Precision Card Services has the capacity to manufacture and process 160 million cards per year
Precision Card Services (PCS), a provider of commercial cards, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in business.
The company was founded in 1993 by Rob Nicholls and Tim Holt who were both affected by the recession of the early 90s and saw an opportunity within the card market thanks to their combined 20 years of experience in the field.
Originally known as Plastic Card Services, the business opened in February 1993 and operated from Wilmslow, Cheshire, where Nicholls and Holt were originally the only employees.
Today the company employs around 40 people and has won a variety of awards including being named in the Sunday Times’ Best Place to Work list.
PCS has evolved over the past 30 years and now supplies eco-degradable and recycled plastic cards as well as a variety of associated services.
Recently the business was acquired by Woodberry Packaging, a move that Precision Card Services believes will accelerate growth and expand its operations. Adam Unsworth, managing director at the company says: “We look forward to seeing PCS continue to grow in the coming years, “adding: “We are incredibly grateful to our loyal customers, dedicated employees, and supportive partners, who have been integral to our success throughout the 30 years of PCS.”
In 2020 PCS’ turnover was £5.4m which was expected to increase to £10m by 2025. In 2018 the company launched the Plastic Card Hub, a web-to-print platform which furthered the company’s operations.
As well as a £1m investment into a digital print production facility, the company also rebranded in 2022 with the introduction of its recycled PVC offering and more sustainable approach to business.
