German company, Sattler Media Group, experienced the new press through a Ricoh beta installation
Ricoh Europe has announced the launch of the RICOH Pro VC80000, a commercial print press created to build on the success of the RICOH Pro VC70000.
The press includes features like advanced startup, print speed, quality control, colour consistency, media changeover, and production capacity.
The VC8000 has been developed as the smallest in its class with a full duplex engine measuring less than ten metres.
With a maximum resolution of 1200 x 1200dpi, a maximum speed of 150mpm, and a unique set of software and hardware tools, Ricoh is promising users a low cost of ownership and a quick return on investment.
Eef de Ridder, vice president for the Graphic Communications Group at Ricoh Europe, says: “The RICOH Pro VC80000 is built on what made the previous generation a client favourite and is a testament to our commitment to helping clients solve their challenges.
“It sets a new standard in automation and data-first intelligence to increase productivity and usable output with consistency across operators and shifts. Following closely on the release of the B2 sheetfed RICOH Pro Z75, it cements Ricoh’s status as a market leader in production inkjet printing.”
The machine includes brand-agnostic software such as RICOH ProcessDirector, an automated end-to-end workflow management solution, as well as RICOH Auto Color Adjuster.
The VC8000 also features the new “firefly” dryer technology, a configuration of small, heated rollers that bring the press up to temperature in less than half of the time of other drying systems.
Featuring a fully incorporated RICOH Pro Scanner and an array of automation features like RICOH Supervisor, the new model looks to bring innovative production to customers across Europe.
The RICOH Pro VC80000 high-speed inkjet press will be available from early 2024 across EMEA.
