Xeikon opens labels market with double launch

Xeikon has announced the addition of two new entry-level digital label presses that it says will help print companies access profitable work in the labels sector.

The new presses will be globally commercially available from Q1

Building on its sixth generation platform and based on Cheetah 2.0 technology, the Xeikon CX30 and Xeikon CX50 are designed to meet the requirements of label printers operating on middle capacity – between 20,000-40,000sqm

Xeikon says the presses are suitable for use in all labels sectors, but particularly “excel” in the pharmaceutical, food, and wine and spirits label markets.

Both the Xeikon CX30 and Xeikon CX50 can be upgraded from the current speeds of 20m/min to 30m/min with the Xeikon CX300 or CX500, as well as for greater width – 330mm to 520mm –on the same machines.

A successful and cost-effective investment in a digital production solution works best when it is based on expected, realistic print volumes

Filip Weymans, vice president of marketing at Xeikon, says: “Part of the Xeikon strategy going forward is to make sure every label printer and converter has the maximum choice to purchase a Xeikon press which can help them drive business growth.

“A successful and cost-effective investment in a digital production solution works best when it is based on expected, realistic print volumes.

“The Xeikon CX30 and Xeikon CX50 are an appropriate choice for printers and converters looking at digital for the first time with future plans to expand and grow their operation – also for online label printers who are seeing their business explode.”

Physical and online demonstrations are now available at the Xeikon Global Innovation Centre in Belgium.
