Sappi confirms “unavoidable” price increases

Sappi Europe has announced a price increase for its packaging and speciality paper products.

Effective from April 1st, all Sappi packaging and speciality paper grades will be priced between 7% and 11% higher than current costs.

Sappi says the increase is the result of sharply rising input costs, particularly in terms of pulp and energy, in combination with high freight rates due to global logistic constraints.

The paper business will contact all of its customers to discuss details of the price increases and to support with implementation.

However, Sappi also says it will take individual existing agreements into account when setting the new prices.
