JDP had already installed a HP Indigo 7600 digital press and a HP Indigo 12K digital press as part of a strategy to bolster its digital capability, but decided to replace the HP Indigo 7600 with an Indigo 100K to further enhance its offering.
The investment marks the latest major move for JDP, which was last month acquired by Venn Holdings, an acquisition vehicle headed by print executives Anthony Thirlby and Andy Rae.
Now branded as JDP, the firm says the acquisition forms part of the holding company’s mission to create a technology-focused printing group, focused on the label, commercial and packaging sectors.
“Deploying and utilising the correct technology across the full spectrum of our targeted product portfolio is paramount to the strategy of JDP and Venn,” Thirlby says.
“We have a very clear vision on how we incorporate our clients’ requirements from the ever-evolving world of the printed product. Ensuring we are a tech-led smart manufacturer of all things print, will always be our core DNA.”
