Agfa says the prices increases are “unavoidable”
According to Agfa, soaring input costs, particularly with aluminium, energy and packaging materials, in combination with sharply rising freight rates due to global logistic constraints, have made the price increases “unavoidable”.
The price increase will take effect from April 1st and will apply to all global sales.
“Despite internal cost reductions, the magnitude of rising prices is no longer sustainable,” Agfa says in a statement, adding: “The price increase applied to our customers will be partly offset, as printers will benefit from higher aluminium prices when they recycle their used plates.
“Agfa’s customers highly value our continuous investment in advanced prepress technology and related services – such as the ECO³ framework which stands for Economy, Ecology and Extra Convenience – which leads to substantial economic benefits in their print shop.”
Agfa adds that its sales teams will be in contact with customers to discuss details of the increases and support the implementation, taking into account individual existing agreements.
