Visual Print and Design is aiming to offset 4.58 tonnes of CO2

Over the last 12 months, the company has tracked its energy usage as a business and commissioned trees to be planted in Lincolnshire in a bid to reduce its impact on the environment.

Working in partnership with Eforest, a not-for-profit organisation helping to combat climate change by restoring woodlands throughout the UK, the firm has been able to plant 10 Hazel trees in Hill Holt Wood in Lincolnshire, which will go towards offsetting 4.58 tonnes of CO2.

Visual Print also now captures it CO2 emissions through paper purchases for its digital print runs and have invested in alternative, sustainable promotional merchandise items including bottles made from plastic collected from coastlines and pencils that can grow into trees.

Graham Hunstone, managing director at Visual Print and Design, comments: “Every day in the UK each of us contributes to climate change. That’s why we take sustainability very seriously at Visual Print and Design and it plays a key role in how we operate.

“We cannot remove our carbon footprint entirely so we wanted to offset it in the most sustainable way and help our clients reduce their carbon footprint where they can with the use of recyclable and sustainably sourced stock.”

The pledge comes after the UK government recently committed to a 78% reduction in carbon emissions by 2035.
