Latcham installed the new guillotine in January this year
Installed in late January, the machine has already had a big impact on Latcham’s finishing set up, with the company now turning around work faster and freeing up time for more jobs.
Latcham operations director Colin Mattinson says the machine, purchased from finishing specialist Friedheim International, forms part of its 2021 replacement strategy, where it is seeking to identify more reliable and efficient equipment for its portfolio.
“The device has been received well by the production team; training was beneficial in order to understand the guillotines programmable functionality,” Mattinson says.
“The new device has a larger cutting capacity than its replacement and we have significantly increased our cutting hourly outputs, therefore reducing the operational hourly costs.”
