Print Monthly spoke to Intec sales director, Kerry Button, about its latest digital sheet cutter

Manufacturer and distributor of finishing solutions, Intec, has discussed its latest release the ColorCut SC6000, a blend of flatbed and sheet-fed technologies made for a variety of cutting and creasing tasks.

The new machine boasts an expanded size capability of 340 x 710mm which allows it to handle significantly longer sheets with an auto feeding system; as well as a dual tool head for both cutting and creasing in a single pass.

Print Monthly recently visited Intec at its HQ in Poole where sales director Kerry Button introduced the machine:

Button details features such as the SC6000’s QR recognition system as well as Intec’s Production Studio package which helps in operating the digital die-cutting system.

Intec has also highlighted the cutter’s ability to cut a mixed batch of jobs from one load. This feature along with the high-speed auto sheet feeder adds to the automation benefits of the machine.

As a blend of flatbed and sheet-fed technologies, the SC6000 is designed for both die-cut and creased lightweight card for packaging, POS, paper, and polyester projects, as well as kiss-cut sheet label production.

The system demonstrates the continued shift to increased automation and diversification as printers and packaging companies use devices such as these for various products and solutions.

Mark Baker-Homes, Intec general manager, adds: “Intec is really excited to launch the SC6000 auto-feed digital die-cutter. As a result of the Plockmatic acquisition and increased level of R&D, this new premium, compact digital die-cutter, brings affordable kiss-cutting and die-cutting for card-based applications and packaging to every printer.

“It’s packed with advancements to enable high productivity and larger format sizes. This combined with Plockmatic’s exceptional build quality and reliability means businesses are able to purchase the cutter at Intec’s very affordable price points”.
