An almost 100-year-old print company, SF Taylor, is celebrating the major milestone of one of its most loyal colleagues.
Gill Tress, who has dedicated 40 years to SF Taylor, is currently business services director and operates within a team of 55 people who help supply services to the NHS across 60 UK Trusts.
SF Taylor has highlighted Tress’ unique view of the company and how the industry and business have changed over her 40 loyal years.
“When I began my career as an office junior in 1983, our client base was much smaller compared to our current roster,” says Tress, who adds: “Most companies didn't even use computers at this time, and we did everything manually. Obviously, we've seen significant changes since then!”
Tress has witnessed the changing attitudes of women in the industry and hopes to continue inspiring them as the subject is very close to her heart.
"When I began, there was just one woman in a management position. The print industry, like many sectors in the 80s, was primarily male-dominated. Witnessing the complete transformation of our workforce, from the central management team to the directors, into a more diverse and inclusive team has been a privilege”.
SF Taylor has ensured that raising money for charity and supporting the local community is a big part of its business, meaning Tress has been involved in several important initiatives.
Recently the company supported the Wear It Pink Campaign in aid of Breast Cancer Now which meant the SF Taylor office was decked out with a variety of decorations.
Tress comments: “We have always found importance in creating a rich and strong connection within our community. Engaging in community initiatives and contributing to local charities has been a growing tradition over the past 40 years. As a Stockport resident, this holds a personal significance for me.”
Back in February of this year the company acquired promotional and branded product supplier Branding365 in order to increase its portfolio of services.
Providing large-scale marketing services for the likes of the NHS, Stockport Homes, and more, dedication and professionalism are of clear importance to the business.
SF Taylor’s managing director, Simon Young, comments: "We extend our heartfelt thanks to Gill for her remarkable four decades with SF Taylor. Gill has always been an invaluable source of wisdom, insight, and friendship. As for the next forty years, who knows how many of them we'll share, but let's hope they're as exhilarating and rewarding for our successors as they've been for us.”
